Types of Tires

Shalom Tire has a large inventory of tires at both our tire shops in Texarkana, TX, including:

All-Season

All-seasons (A/S) are the most popular tires on the market. As the name suggests, all-season tires give you good handling in both wet and dry conditions. While they aren’t as good in heavy snow, they can still handle light snowfall.

Highway-Terrain

Highway-terrain (H/T) tires are highway tires aimed specifically at SUVS and Light Trucks. They have similar all-season capabilities to A/S tires, doing well on wet and dry surfaces. However, they’re designed for longer-distance comfort and higher load capacities.

Mud-Terrain

If you need the highest level of off-road capability, you need a set of mud-terrain (M/T) tires. Mud-terrains are made for anything you can throw at them, though they aren’t nearly as comfortable on-road as an H/T or A/T tire.

All-Terrain

All-terrain (A/T) tires are a good mix of highway tires and mud-terrain tires. They aren’t as aggressive as M/T tires, but they offer more off-road capability than H/T tires. A/Ts are the best combination of highway comfort and off-road prowess and were designed for the driver who needs to do it all.

Touring

When you need to prioritize comfort above all else, you want a touring tire. Touring tires are made for long lifetimes and improved comfort. Touring tires don’t handle as well as true performance tires, but they’re incredibly comfortable and reliable.
